I first fell in love with music when I learned how to play the trombone in high school. Soon after, I picked up the saxophone and clarinet. Although I studied many styles of music, I always found my way back to jazz.

Jazz is a magical part of my life. Whether playing or listening, it’s easy to enjoy and appreciate jazz. But it takes years to truly understand it. I’ve found the more you study, the more you learn that there’s much more to know. Big band has played a major role throughout the history of jazz and is essential in your journey of jazz appreciation.

The Swing Cactus Jazz Orchestra promotes jazz through wonderful rhythms and powerful emotions. We perform as a big band to convey a lively and intimate musical experience for all audiences. Our hope is that you join us to celebrate the wonderful culture of jazz. It’s so much fun, even a cactus will jump up and dance!
